Home Health Aide Program
This 40-hour program is designed to prepare the Certified Nursing Assistant to become a Home Health Aide. Preparation includes classroom instruction and supervised clinical training within the California State Department of Public Health Services guidelines. Theory classes may be held in the classroom setting, and clinical hours may be at state-approved training facilities or laboratories.
Admission Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must possess a valid California ID and Social Security Number
- Must have a current Certified Nurse Assistant License
- Physical exam and Negative TB skin tests or negative chest X-Ray result
- Must pass the fingerprinting and complete the live scan
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance and Personal Medical Insurance

August 11 – Last Day of Class
November 9 – Start Day of Class
November 24 – Last Day of Class
Duration: 20 hours of classroom and 20 hours of supervised clinical training in-home health topics
Programs: Weekend Program: Saturday & Sunday (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) for six weeks
Method of Instruction: Classroom, Laboratory, and Clinical
Fees: $750 ($100 Non-Refundable Registration Plus $650 Tuition)
Other Expenses (For student’s information only): Personal expenses, Book, Uniforms, and other accessories
Graduation Requirements:
- Successful completion of 40 hours of training as per the College’s state-approved curriculum
- Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED First Aid, or Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Certification: Upon completing the program, the Certified Nurse Assistants acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to provide services to residents in homes or residential care facilities. The students may receive a certificate of completion from the College. The state-approved program director at the College conducts testing. Students who complete the testing may receive a California State License to practice as a Home Health Aide.
