Vocational Certificate Program

This comprehensive 300-hour program prepares students to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT).

The curriculum aligns with the syllabi of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the National Health Career Association (NHA). Preparation includes a blend of classroom/online instruction, supervised laboratory training, and a coordinated externship in a real-world pharmacy setting.

Admission Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid California ID and Social Security Number
  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher qualification
  • Basic Computer and Mathematics Skills
  • Negative TB skin test or chest X-Ray & Physical Exam
  • Live Scan fingerprinting clearance
  • Proof of Professional Liability & Medical Insurance

Certification & Licensure

Upon successful completion, students acquire the skills necessary to assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing medication. Graduates meet the training requirements of the California State Board of Pharmacy.

  • National Certification: Eligible to sit for exams by the PTCB, ICPT, or NHA.
  • State Licensure: Eligible to apply for a California State License to practice as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
